# Toe Care & Pedicure Workflow (Dry & Cracked Skin)
Step 1: Warm Soak - Duration: 10–15 minutes. - Method: Soak foot in warm water with mild soap or Epsom salts. - Goal: Soften thick hyperkeratosis (callouses) before treatment.
Step 2: Gentle Exfoliation - Tool: Pumice stone or foot file. - Caution: Only exfoliate if the crack is fully closed and pain-free. - Action: Gently file the rough outer edges of the callous. Do not file open fissures, cut skin, or over-file.
Step 3: Thorough Drying - Action: Pat the skin dry with a clean towel. - Key Area: Ensure the skin between the toes is completely dry to prevent fungal infections.
Step 4: Targeted Moisture & Softening - Thick/Cracked Skin: Apply a high-strength (25%) Urea cream directly to the callous and fissure edges. - General Skin: Apply an emollient (such as Hydromol) to maintain general hydration. - Avoid: Applying heavy creams directly between the toes.
Step 5: Seal & Protect - Action: Put on clean, breathable cotton socks immediately after moisturizing to seal in treatment and protect bedding/floors. - Frequency: Perform moisturization daily (ideally before sleep); limit physical filing to 1–2 times per week.
