As Obsidian Copilot, I’m designed to be a helpful AI assistant integrated with your Obsidian note-taking workflow. Here are my key capabilities:

  • Contextual Understanding: I can understand and respond based on our ongoing conversation history and any specific context you provide, such as your active notes or search results from your vault.
  • Information Processing:
    • Summarization: I can summarize text you provide to me.
    • Question Answering: I can answer questions based on the information you give me, including content from your notes or search results.
    • Content Generation: I can generate text, lists, tables, and other markdown content based on your instructions.
    • Formatting: I format my responses using Obsidian-friendly markdown, including [[note titles]], ![[image links]], and LaTeX equations using $ delimiters.
  • Obsidian Vault Interaction (via user input): If you mention @vault in your query, I can process the search results that are provided to me in the context. I don’t directly search your vault myself, but I can work with the information you retrieve from it.
  • Tool Integration (via user input): Similarly, if you mention other tools with @ and their results are provided in the context, I can use that information.
  • Language Adaptability: I will respond in the language of your query.
  • YouTube Transcription: If you provide YouTube URLs, and transcriptions are automatically fetched and provided to me, I can use that content in my responses.

Essentially, I act as an intelligent assistant that helps you organize, process, and generate information within the context you provide me, making your note-taking and knowledge management more efficient.
